A church for people recovering from the church
We are a progressive church-planting movement within the Disciples of Christ, a denomination rooted in the vision of being a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world.
We understand that the word "church" can be a painful trigger for many who have experienced harm in the name of Christianity. That’s why we describe ourselves as a church for people recovering from the church. We seek to heal, restore, and redefine spiritual community as a space of radical love, inclusion, and grace. Reimagine with us what it means to follow Jesus together.
Our hope is to become a safer space for seekers, skeptics, and those who have been marginalized by the church because of their race, beliefs, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
Unlike many traditional churches, we don’t offer a rigid “statement of beliefs” that you must agree to in order to belong. Jesus didn’t ask for checklists of faith, and neither do we.
Instead, we hold to a set of shared values that guide our life together.
God's table
is open for ALL to experience love and belonging.
Faith
is not the absence of doubt, but the presence of curiosity and openness
Questions
are more important than answers
The Bible
should be taken seriously, but not always literally and not as a magic instruction manual for life.
Other faith traditions & philosophies
hold rich truths from which we can learn
a place for authentic conversations, where we can grapple with big questions together, not just listen to someone telling us what’s “right.”
a community where we don’t have to hide parts of ourselves - whether it’s about gender, sexuality, mental health, or any other part of our story.
a community of humility and compassion, where empathy matters more than being right.
involved in the needs of the local community, partnering with community members and organizations who are fighting for the rights and dignity of those who are most vulnerable or marginalized.

Devin grew up in the evangelical tradition but eventually embarked on a personal journey of deconstructing and rethinking his faith. Today, he is passionate about supporting others who have been hurt by religion or are questioning their spirituality, helping them find healing and peace. Devin deeply recognizes the harm done to our LGBTQ+ family by Christians and his past faith tradition, and seeks to be a part of the healing process. Devin earned his Master of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology and finds deep fulfillment in walking alongside people as they explore their faith in new and meaningful ways.
Devin has a deep love for science and enjoys pondering life's big questions. When he's not contemplating the meaning of it all, he can often be found enjoying good stories—especially movies—cooking, or writing music. He has a passion for good food, dad jokes, meaningful conversations, and loves time with his amazing spouse, Kylie, and their dog, Winnie!

Jill Crisci is a gender non-conforming, queer, bi-vocational minister who serves both as a math consultant (yes, math!) and as a faith leader. Her personal experiences as a queer person alongside her professional experiences working predominantly in low-income, inner-city schools have driven her passion for equity, inclusion, transformation, and healing in uncertain times - both for individuals and communities. Her ministry work includes spiritual accompaniment & coaching, anti-racism work with faith communities, and serving as co-pastor at missiongathering. Jill loves music, paddle boarding, being in nature, good food, and spending time with her wife, Kate.
