Common Curiosities
Kids in Church
We love kids in church and see them as a vital part of the spiritual growth, joy, and love that mg cultivates. Like ourselves, we don't expect them to be quiet or perfect! Our gatherings are versatile and naturally provide lots of ways for kids to engage as equal and beloved members of our community.
Style of Worship & Music
We believe worship happens in lots of different ways. Whether in a more traditional service, having discussion over a meal, or being out in nature, our Sunday gatherings reflect a diversity of worship expression. Our "traditional" service is a more modern worship experience - rainbow colored lights, fidgets and crafting supplies on tables, a mix of secular and religious songs from our band, a message from one of our pastors, discussion and reflection from the community, and opportunities to engage in rituals like communion, candle lighting, and more. You can expect to be welcomed gently and lovingly by folks who have a fair share of religious trauma and know what it's like to enter a new faith community for the first time.
We have accessible bathrooms with stalls and/or urinals available in multiple areas around the building. We encourage people to use whatever bathrooms they feel most comfortable in.
Let's face it: Going to a new place can be awkward and overwhelming. But don't worry - we're not going to force you to hug or hold hands with strangers. All of our discussion, sharing, and ritual is by invitation, not expectation. Come as you are in your awesome introvertedness and engage in whatever way best honors you!
We’re a proudly “neuro-spicy” community that celebrates differences and values meaningful engagement in all its forms. We provide fidgets, art supplies, Legos, and more to use during worship, along with quiet spaces for those who need a break. Our parking lot is fairly level, and all gathering spaces are stair-free and fully accessible. If you have specific accessibility needs or questions, we’d love to connect before your visit—just reach out
RuPaul once said, "we're all born naked, and the rest is drag" - and we say Amen to that! Our attire is a way that we express ourselves and helps us show up in an authentic way. So, wear whatever feels like the most authentic representation of you! If that means dressing up, go for it. If that means sweats or pajamas, that's cool too! And if it helps to be super clear ... people at mg keep it pretty casual.
